M and O were looking for a simple and legal wedding, but wanted something a little more special than the Registry Office, so they contacted the team at Elope Brisbane to coordinate their wedding suppliers.

M’s mum has some mobility issues, so they sought a wedding ceremony location in Brisbane with wheelchair access. Mt Coot Tha Botanic Gardens has a carpark with disability parking near the entrance, and then concreted paths and ramps which have access to the Palm Tree Lawn. The carer was able to guide the wheelchair along the paths to the ceremony area with ease. The Palm Tree Lawn at the Botanic Gardens features synthetic turf, so even after heavy rainfall, a wheelchair is able to be pushed from the path into the ceremony area. Stylist Mel from Miss Weddings set up the guests chairs leaving a space on the end of the row which was a perfect fit for the wheelchair.

The couple chose the Simply Elope package, which includes a marriage celebrant and photography package. Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry sorted all the legals for the couple and delivered a simple but personalised ceremony. Photographer Romana Saeheng captured some memorable photos of the couple and their guests.

Contact the team at Elope Brisbane for your simple and legal ceremony, and check out the wedding lawns at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mount Coot-tha if you are looking for a venue with easy access for wheelchairs.
