Andrew and Angela are a little quirky, so they decided that their wedding day would be a reflection of that.

They wanted their ceremony to be fun, colourful, and unconventional, and they asked the team at Elope Brisbane to coordinate their wedding day for them at the location of their first date, Orleigh Park on the banks of the Brisbane River.

The couple hired a converted church at Petrie Terrace for their wedding preparations.

Angela was glammed up by Hollywood Brides, and she wore a knee-length white lace dress from Review with white sneakers. Andrew wore black trousers, a white shirt with rolled up cuffs, and a geometric print vest.

At their ceremony location by the River, Elope Brisbane set up an arch shaped arbour, and added foliage and fresh flowers in yellows and deep crimsons. A jute circular rug was placed for the couple to stand on. Forty white Americana chairs were set out under a shady tree for the comfort of guests.

Angela and Andrew were picked up from their accommodation by Busta Rydes, an orange 1973 VW Kombi.

They arrived together at the ceremony site, and after signing their declarations and separately acknowledging their willingness to marry, they walked down the aisle to Next to Me by Rufus du Sol. Because the couple first met at a Rufus gig, all the ceremony music was from Rufus du Sol.

Their ceremony featured personal vows from the couple, which were, unsurprisingly, a little funny, a little sweet, and a little quirky. They also requested a handfasting, where the celebrant used an infinity knot to tie the cords representing the couple tying the knot. While the couple were signing the marriage certificates, Lego figurine kits were distributed for the guests to build their own Lego character.

The couple walked back down the aisle, of course to a Rufus du Sol song, and were showered with flower petals and well wishes. After some photos to commemorate the day, the celebrations were kicked off with the cutting of the wedding cake – a chocolate hazelnut flavoured cake in a brick shape, adorned with a Lego bride and groom.

The couple met up with their guests at a bar in the city to continue the celebrations, and have a honeymoon in Europe planned, seeing some of their favourite bands and of course, visiting Legoland.

Congratulations, Andrew and Angela – we loved working with you to create such a colourful wedding day.
