We love to explore our own backyard and discover beautiful spots for couples to say their intimate "I dos"... here are some amazing spots that we have shared with our beautiful couples... (in no particular order)
Sure Thing Chapel
The Sure Thing Chapel is a boutique space designed for elopements and intimate gatherings. With a modern fun vibe – A little like Vegas but with a lot less kitsch. Hosting ceremonies and optional private dining or cocktail parties after the ‘I do’s’. Located in the Redlands Coast – an indoor, aircon space, close to the water for more epic photos. The Sure Thing Chapel has it’s own awesome packages with the Elope Brisbane team.
JC Slaughter Falls
The J C Slaughter Falls is a cascade waterfall on the Ithaca Creek in the suburb of Mount Coot-tha.
The area where we like to set up your ceremony is not a bookable site, so there is no extra cost associated with this site. It is easily accessible with car parks close by. It also has an under cover area that can be used as a wet weather plan. Alternatively, this park also has a bookable outdoor chapel that can be secured via a booking with Brisbane City Council.
Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens
The Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens are located 7 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD at the foot of Brisbane’s tallest mountain, Mount Coot-tha.
For small elopements (just a few guests) without ceremony styling, if you are happy to be a little spontaneous, then there are countless spots for your elopement with no location charge. However, if you would like to ensure exclusive use and would like to be able to set up a wedding arbour and chairs etc. then a booking with council is necessary. A booking via Brisbane City Council here, also includes 20 Americana chairs and signing table.
This parkland offers plenty of parking for your guests as well.
There are a number of beautiful ceremony lawns here… our fav is Palm Tree Lawn because it is so private.
Brisbane City Botanical Gardens
The City Botanic Gardens is a heritage-listed botanic garden on Alice Street, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was also known as Queen’s Park.
For small elopements without ceremony styling, and if you are happy to be a little spontaneous, then there is additional no location charge… however if you would like to ensure exclusive use and be able to set up a wedding arbour and chairs etc. then a booking with council is necessary.
Parking options for you guests are trickier here and guests will be required to do some walking to get to your ceremony site.
Our fav spots at the City Botanical Gardens are Wedding lawn 2, Lilypond lawn and Rainforest hideaway.
Captain Burke Park
Nestled at the base of the Story Bridge’s imposing south pylon is this park with one of the city’s most striking outlooks.
Captain Burke Park is a great spot for your ceremony if you are keen for photos along the river and Kangaroo Point Cliffs. This space is more accessible than the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, offers easier parking and less walking.
At the moment, this site does not attract additional booking fees as council are not taking bookings. But ceremonies can still be held here.
New Farm Park
New Farm Park is a heritage-listed riverfront public park, located close to popular hotels and nightlife.
For small elopements without ceremony styling, and if you are happy to be a little spontaneous, then there is no location charge… however if you would like to ensure exclusive use and be able to set up a wedding arbour and chairs etc. then a booking with council is necessary.
The Fig Tree near the Rotunda is our favourite spot here. There is always plenty of parking available for your guests and this space is very accessible. (although the rotunda has a few stairs).
Particularly if you want to use the Rotunda (a great wet weather option).
North Stradbroke Island
The Redlands Coast has so much to offer for those who love the coastline and sandy beaches.
From the mainlands to the islands… all the beaches are beautiful!
Council require formal bookings for weddings, booking is only $44 per hour.

Roma Street Parklands
Just a 10-minute walk from Brisbane’s CBD lies the Roma Street Parkland and Spring Hill precinct.
This park is privately run, so a booking is necessary. Email [email protected] to check availability.
Newstead Park Rotunda
Newstead Park at Newstead has two park booking sites available for bookings for special events of short duration. The park is located on the Brisbane River and includes heritage-listed Newstead House, off-street parking, manicured lawns and gardens and shade trees.
The Newstead Rotunda is a beautiful spot for an intimate wedding and offers a wet weather plan.
Kangaroo Point Cliffs
The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are heritage-listed cliffs located at Kangaroo Point just across the Brisbane River from the Brisbane CBD.
For small elopements without ceremony styling, and if you are happy to be a little spontaneous, then there is no location charge… however if you would like to ensure exclusive use and be able to set up a wedding arbour and chairs etc. then a booking with council is necessary.
Parking is limited and walking is required to get to the ceremony sites.
Area 2 followed by Area 1 are our fav spots for a more intimate ceremony.
Wilson Outlook Reserve
Wilson Outlook Reserve is a clifftop park with commanding views of Story Bridge offering picnic tables, shade trees & grass. It overlooks Howard Smith Wharves, with lift access to below.

Parking is limited and walking maybe required to get to the ceremony site – we suggest an uber for guests.
